BDSM: Transcendence Through Bondage

I am a sex therapist working on research regarding people’s drive towards particular aspects of kink, pornography and specifically BDSM/SM. I am looking to talk with people for 45 minutes to an hour about their experiences. This can be done by phone, Skype or in person.

You are invited to participate in a research interview that explores your understanding and experience of BDSM/SM, which as you know stands for a range of experiences including one or more elements of bondage, discipline, sadism, masochism, dominance, submission, or master or slave play during sexuality. In terms of this research project, the only experiences of BDSM/SM that are under study are those which are planned and practiced with utmost attention to physical and psychological safety and are only undertaken with the full knowing and informed consent of all parties to the experience. The interview will involve discussion of sexuality, pornography or BDSM/SM but will not involve any touching or sexual experience of any kind.

You have been invited to participate in the interview because you have previously made known to me your interest and/or experience in BDSM in a safe set and setting prior to and separately from my raising the subject of BDSM to you. If you participate in this interview, it will be based on your statement and representation that you were drawn to BDSM prior to meeting me and that I did not encourage you in any way to begin an exploration of BDSM but that you decided to begin that exploration on your own prior to meeting me.
